Justin Timberlake and Timbaland have teased a potential reunion with their Give It To Me collaborator Nelly Furtado.
The Cry Me A River hitmaker has been working with the producer on his forthcoming sixth solo album, with both taking to social media to share posts with Nelly, who recently dropped the Dom Dolla collaboration, Eat Your Man.
Having previously collaborated in 2006 on her third album, ‘Loose’, Timbaland shared a screenshot of himself and Justin on a Facetime call with the Promiscuous singer.
“Da dream team @justintimberlake @nellyfurtado,” he penned, before posting a snippet of Nelly’s vocals playing in the room. “Oooooooo boyyyyyyy. We back!!!!!!!!,” Timbaland captioned a second post, hinting that the Say It Right singer could be set to appear on Justin’s new album.
Six years after releasing her sixth and most recent album, ‘The Ride’ (2017), Nelly recently confirmed she’s been in the studio for the past year and has a bunch of tracks ready to go.
“I have so much music. I’ve recorded a hundred songs in the last 18 months, and I’m so excited to bring people new music,” she shared.
Teasing collaborations, including with Colombian band Bomba Estéreo, she added: “I’ve surrounded myself with so many creative people in the studio over the last year. I’ve taken a ‘the more, the merrier’ approach and understood that you have to be open to staying exciting and fresh.
“It’s all about staying creative, being out there, listening to music, and being in the mix,” the Canadian star continued. “You can’t expect to just rest on your laurels and then one day saunter into the studio and make good music.”
