Keisha Buchanan has won the rights back to the Sugababes name.

The singer formed the group back in the late ’90s but, after bandmates Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena left, she was joined by new bandmates Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah, and went on to release multiple hit albums.

‘Ray Of Light 2.0’ will ‘NEVER’ be released, says Madonna collaborator William Orbit

Eventually, in 2009, the star was ousted and replaced by Eurovision star Jade Ewen, who finished in 7th place for the UK. However, according to TheGrapeJuice.net, after that incarnation split in 2011 and Keisha fought for the rights, she finally won back the name.

According to the screenshots shared on Instagram, a 10 year renewal of the Sugababes trademark was granted back in May this year.

It comes after Keisha reunited with Siobhan and Mutya back in 2014 for the single Flatline, under the moniker MKS.

They went on to record more original material, but none of the tracks were ever released. One, Love In Stereo, was given to Bananarama, for their 2019 album In Stereo.

The trio released a cover of the garage classic Flowers last year under the Sugababes moniker.
