Soul Defender, the new posthumous single from The Supremes co-founder Mary Wilson, has been released.
Ahead of what would have been the music legend’s 79th birthday, the single is penned by Electribe 101 star Billie Ray Martin and produced by Paul Brewer and John Keenan.
“I’m honoured to have written this song, along with Waterson and after years of Paul’s efforts, it’s finally out,” says Martin.

Marking the first release from Mary Wilson since 2021’s ‘The Motown Anthology’, on which she had been working at the time of her death.
It gathered the singer’s featured lead vocal appearances with The Supremes and from her solo career, including the whole of her self-titled 1979 set.
That same year, her debut solo LP was also reissued in expanded form.
