Robert O’Connor will release his new single Separate Ways later this month.
The track, which features on the rising Irish star’s ‘Severance’ EP, is produced by Gareth Shortland with vocal production by Richey McCourt.
Of the song, which is the flipside to the EP’s opening single Save You, Robert says: “Where there was hope, now there’s despair.”
Following the single release on January 20, a selection of remixes will follow on January 27 and February 3.
Clocking in at eight tracks, the collection features the pre-release cuts Save You, Been & Gone and One Way Ticket, along with a cover of Agnetha Fältskog’s The Last Time.
“I grew up in the nineties religiously collecting and analysing the music of the NOW! Dance Compilation albums, and this record reflects that sonically,” he tells RETROPOP of the project.
“Lyrically, it’s almost conceptual, looking at how the past few turbulent years in the world have seen us sever ties in our lives – from friendships to relationships and even professionally.
“We’ve had time to think, ‘Is this whatI want for my life?’”
