Beyoncé has teamed up with Ronald Isley on a cover of the Isley Brothers’ Make Me Say It Again, Girl.
Originally featured on the group’s 1975 album ‘The Heat Is On’, the collaboration was initially teased last June by Ronald’s wife Kandy Isley, who credited Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson for making it happen.
“Tina Knowles-Lawson was very influential in getting this record started and getting it to the point where we are now,” she told Billboard.
“She has a love for the Isley Brothers and her daughter grew up listening to this type of music.”
The track follows Friends & Family, Ronald’s 2021 collaboration with Snoop Dog, and Beyoncé’s chart-topping seventh album “Renaissance’.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop noted that what stands out on ‘Renaissance’ is “the fun that Beyoncé has over the course of the project, which is undoubtedly her most joyous release in years.”
‘Renaissance’ is available now.
