Sparks have started work on a new studio album, the duo has confirmed.
It’s been two years since brothers Ron and Russell Mael released ‘A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip’ and, after sharing the 2021 soundtrack LP for the movie ‘Annette’, they’ve started work on another new project.
Sharing a studio snap on Instagram, they simply penned: “Studio update. #newsparksalbum.”
It comes after Ron – who released Sparks’ debut LP back in 1971 – admitted he prefers making music now, compared with their early years.
“I can’t say it wasn’t fun in the 70s having screaming people in the audience,” he said.
“Musically, though, it is more fun now. The fact we are still here, it’s beyond surreal.”
