Released: April 22
NOW Music takes a journey through the biggest floor-fillers of the ‘80s with a brand new four-disc collection of wall-to-wall anthems.
Opening with Irene Cara’s Flashdance… What A Feeling, the set boasts 81 cuts from the classic decade, including the euphoric double-billing of Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) and All Night Long (All Night) by Lionel Richie.
The set is neatly split into four distinct collections, with disc one featuring the best in soul and the changing shape of disco during the decade.
Elsewhere, disc two pays tribute to the ‘80s dancefloor classics that fused genres to create breath-taking originality and new styles, while a third disc journeys through the decade, touching on synth-pop and Hi-NRG through the Stock Aitken Waterman years.
The final disc rounds out the ‘80s soundtrack with highlights from the end of the decade, including three classic No. 1s: Black Box’s Ride On Time, S’Express’ Theme From S’Express, and Pump Up The Volume from M/A/R/R/S.
The result is a comprehensive set that revives the best-loved dance floor sounds of the ‘80s and will no doubt form the soundtrack to kitchen discos and barbecues through the summer and beyond!
‘NOW That’s What I Call 80s: Dancefloor’ is out now.
