Kylie Minogue has been using her workouts to fine-tune her new music.
The pop icon returned to the charts in 2020 with her 15th studio album ‘DISCO’, and later released the expanded ‘DISCO: Guest List Edition’ and ‘Infinite Disco’ live album.
But she’s already working on new music, which she’s been incorporating into her fitness regime.
She says: “I was on the treadmill a couple of weeks ago and listening to a new demo, trying to figure out what’s good about it, what needs changing.
“It helped me get quite a few more kilometres in.”
Despite teasing an “electro pop” sound for the new LP, Kylie insists she was only taking a light stroll, because she’s not a fan of sprinting.
“We say in my family, ‘Minogues don’t run’. None of us run. But we like to walk, so that works for me,” she adds (via Wall Street Journal’s WSJ magazine)
“If I’m somewhere where there’s Pilates, I love that. I’ve also tried gyrotonics – that was really fun.
“My ultimate workout is being on tour. I’m never as fit as when I’m on the road, so I can’t wait to do that again. My body needs it.”
In our review of ‘DISCO’, Retro Pop said the album, “comes just in time to help us dance through the darkness and back into the light.
“’DISCO’ is packed with upbeat, care-free ’70s inspired dance music – and, frankly, that’s just what we needed right now!”
