Belinda Carlisle’s ninth studio album is almost complete.
It’s been five years since The Go-Go’s star released ‘Wilder Shores’, her album of Sikh chants, and in a post on Instagram she confirmed it’s follow-up is on the way.
Sharing a clip on her Stories originally posted by singer-songwriter and producer Gabe Lopez, she penned: “OMG!!!!!! Finally almost done with my new album… 2 ½ years in the making with this plague.”
Although she didn’t share any further details, Lopez previously co-wrote and produced the track Sun from Belinda’s greatest hits album ‘Icon’, released in 2013.
Meanwhile, Belinda will return to the stage this summer with her long-awaited ‘Decades’ tour,.
The Leave a Light On star was due to hit the stage in October/November 2021 with the gigs, which coincided with the reissues of her classic albums ‘Belinda’, ‘Live Your Life Be Free’ and ‘A Man and A Woman’.
However, due to concerns over Covid and its effect on touring, the Go-Go’s singer has moved her Irish shows to July 2022 and the UK dates to February 2023.
