Pet Shop Boys are releasing a standard edition of their 1988 movie It Couldn’t Happen Here after the initial deluxe release completely sold out.
The standard version of the release comes in a plastic case and still features both Blu-ray and DVD, and extras including commentary and interviews.
However, it doesn’t include the 44-page hardcover interview-filled book and outer slipcase, which were exclusive to the deluxe version.
It Couldn’t Happen Here was originally conceived as an extended pop video based on Pet Shop Boys’ 1987 album Actually, but turned into a full-length feature film, with Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe embarking on a musical odyssey from coast to capital, and starring screen legends including Joss Ackland, Gareth Hunt and Barbara Windsor.
It’s soundtracked to hits from the duo’s fantastic first two studio albums, including West End Girls, It’s A Sin and Always On My Mind.
The standard edition of It Couldn’t Happen Here retails for £15.99 and is available July 20th. The DVD remains region 2, with the blu-ray region B.
