Electro-pop star Little Boots has joined the live band for ABBA’s forthcoming ‘Voyage’ shows.
The singer, who released her UK Top 5 debut album ‘Hands’ in 2009 and scored the Top 10 hit Remedy, confirmed the news in a post on Instagram.
Alongside a gallery of shots of herself alongside ABBA pianist and songwriter Benny Andersson, she admitted it’s an “absolute honour” to join the show on keyboards/synthesizer and backing vocals.
“My love for the songs of Abba runs hard and deep, there is no other songwriting I have been more inspired by throughout my career, in my opinion it is the most life-affirming, heart wrenching, joyful, liberating, powerful pop music on the planet,” explained the singer, real name Victoria Hesketh.
“It has already been a dream to spend time in the studio with my musical heroes,” continued the star, who will release Silver Balloons as the lead single from her fourth studio album later this month.
“I am beyond excited for this journey to continue and to have the privilege of performing these songs with a group of the most incredible musicians I have ever played with.
“The sound of this band will give you goosebumps!”
ABBA thrilled fans worldwide by announcing their new 10-track album ‘Voyage’, along with the live concert experience due to open in London in spring 2022.
Days after the LP went up for pre-order, it was confirmed the record had surpassed 80,000 sales in the UK, breaking Universal Music UK’s pre-order record previously held by Take That.
‘Voyage’, due November 5, is available to pre-order now on CD, vinyl and cassette.
