Toni Braxton’s classic album ‘Libra’ will make its debut on vinyl thanks to the revival of Blackground Records.
The R&B icon released her sixth LP in 2005, featuring the hits Please, Trippin’ (That’s the Way Love Works) and Take This Ring.
Despite scoring a Top 5 US chart debut, the album wasn’t regarded as a massive success for the ‘90s superstar and has been absent from digital platforms for several years.
However, that’s set to change, with ‘Libra’ due to return to streaming and download services on October 1, ahead of its first-ever vinyl release in June 2022.
At the same time, the record will be reissued on CD in its original standard format. Pre-order across formats here.
Toni returned to the charts in 2020 with her 10th studio album ‘Spell My Name’, featuring the Billboard Adult R&B No. 1 singles Do It and Gotta Move On.
The singer also teased plans to reissue her complete catalogue on vinyl, replying to a fan’s question with the promise, “Vinyl is coming!!!”
Toni isn’t the only artist whose music is getting a new lease of life off the back of the label; Background is also issuing late singer Aaliyah’s albums on vinyl and digital platforms for the first time, against the wishes of her family.
