Emma Bunton can’t wait to get into the studio with her Spice Girls bandmates and work on new music.
The singer recently released her first book ‘Mama You Got This’ and, while promoting the publication, opened up on the iconic group’s plans for the future.
And while a tour from the Spice Up Your Life hitmakers looks to be definite, Emma is also keen to hit the studio and record some new tracks.
She tells Chris Moyles on his Radio X show: “I love writing with the girls, we have such a laugh in the studio.”
Emma released her fourth solo album ‘My Happy Place’ back in 2019 and it’s been 21 years since Spice Girls released their third and final album ‘Forever’.
Her bandmate Mel B recently hinted new music could be on the cards from the group, which is currently active as a four-piece following the departure of Victoria Beckham in 2019.
“We’ve been more about the lines of doing music together and hopefully getting the tour up and running because everything got shut down because of lockdown,” the singer shared.
“My aim is for us to get back together and do some more songs together – and hopefully getting up on stage and entertaining everybody again.”
And Emma seems to be on the same page, admitting she, Mel, Geri Horner and Melanie C were in the early stages of planning gigs before the pandemic.
“We started talking about maybe doing some more and then lockdown happened which is such a shame,” she sighed.
“I’m dying to do it again. I’m waiting to see what’s going on in the world.
“You can’t book anything yet, so we’re waiting for that moment, but I’m sure that will happen when we can!”
