The Pet Shop Boys are among the stars launching Pride Month with the Project Pride virtual concert.
The event is hosted by the Smithsonian Pride Alliance – part of the world’s largest museum, education and research complex – and includes a concert event and digital time-capsule celebration of LGBTQ+ heritage, culture and history.
Led by the Monkey Business hitmakers, the show features LGBTQ+ musicians, artists and allies, including Big Freedia, Bright Light Bright Light, and VINCINT.

Hosted by NPR’s Ari Shapiro, the show will be rounded out with visuals of LGBTQ+-related artefacts and stories from Smithsonian representatives, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, National Museum of American History, National Museum of African American History and Culture, and more.
