New year, new music… 2021 kicked off with a bang, with new tunes from disco queen of 2020 Kylie Minogue, and Spice Girls icon Melanie C.
Kylie Minogue + Dua Lipa – Real Groove (Studio 2054 Remix)
Kylie Minogue ended the year with the surprise release of Real Groove (Studio 2054 Remix) with chart favourite Dua Lipa.
The pair originally premiered the tune, featured on Kylie’s record-breaking 15th LP DISCO, during Dua’s Studio 2054 live stream, with the new mix layering the production and adding the rising star’s harmony to the chorus.
With Kylie also set to hit the studio with Jessie Ware in 2021, it seems she’s truly been bitten by the collaboration bug.
Barry Gibb – Words (feat. Dolly Parton)
Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb has re-recorded the group’s classic hit Words with a little help from country icon Dolly Parton.
The new version of the tune – which was covered by Boyzone in the late 1990s – features Dolly on lead vocals with Barry contributing harmonies throughout.
The single will be included on Gibb’s upcoming album Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1, released on January 8th.
Melanie C – Overload (Todd Terry Remix)
Melanie C launched an impressive six singles from her latest, self-titled LP, and she takes fifth release Overload up a notch with the new Todd Terry Remix.
Firmly rooted in house music territory, the new mix transforms Overload into the perfect dance floor number. Also included is a Club Mix and Supa Dub Mix.
The album, Melanie C, scored the star her highest chart placement since 2003’s Reason.
