Sophie Ellis-Bextor paid tribute to British war veterans with a cover of Vera Lynn’s classic We’ll Meet Again following her weekly Kitchen Disco on Friday.
During lockdown, the Starlight singer has been bringing to dance floor to fans from her own kitchen, performing a selection of her biggest hits and popular covers every week.
After each session, she also livestreams an aftershow, and this week she dedicated a performance of the World War 2 classic song in honour of VE Day.
“Here’s ‘We’ll Meet Again’, from Friday’s kitchen disco aftershow on Insta,” she wrote alongside the clip. “Yes it was VE Day, but also a message from me to you.”

Sophie added: “We will meet again, kitchen disco-ers xx.”
The performance also included a sweet tribute to Sophie’s husband Richard’s grandad, who was a WW2 soldier.
The hitmaker recently opened up on the success of her new online series – and admitted even her sons are fans of them!
