Donna Summer’s classic 1983 concert A Hot Summer Night his getting a deluxe re-release on CD+DVD.
The celebrated concert, featuring performances of classic hits State of Independence, Bad Girls and Hot Stuff, as well as rarities like Romeo, was filmed and recorded live on 6 August 1983, at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, California.
In July, the gig is set to be issued on CD for the first time, and also gets its vinyl debut on a 2LP coloured pressing, on Demon’s Driven By The Music imprint.
The set was taped during the second leg of Donna’s Hard For The Money Tour, supporting the hit album and single which had been released a couple of months earlier.
Also included in the new release is a 7,500-word essay, featuring interviews with singer/songwriter Bruce Sudano, film director Brian Grant, choreographer Arlene Phillips, and executive producer Len R. Epand.
