Madonna’s working through her storied career as she continues to prep for a highly-anticipated biopic.
The Papa Don’t Preach star has been teasing the project on social media, and has posted a series of videos to her Instagram with Oscar winner Diablo Cody.
In the latest video, the pair sit together on the star’s sofa as she reads from the preface of the hardback, which features adult content including softcore pornography from Madonna.
“This book is about sex. Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Yet the best thing is when these two worlds come together,” she reads. “You can love God, you can love the planet, you can love the entire humanity, and you can love anything, but the best way for humans to show love is to love each other.”
Sex features photography by Steven Meisel Studio along with guest stars including actress Isabella Rossellini, rappers Big Daddy Kane and Vanilla Ice, model Naomi Campbell, gay porn star Joey Stefano, actor Udo Kier, and socialite Princess Tatiana von Fürstenberg.
Madonna released Sex in conjunction with her fifth studio album Erotica. It sold over 150,000 copies on its first day, remains the fastest-selling coffee table book, and went on to sell more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.
While Madonna has yet to reveal any further details about the project, she’s posted snippets of the pair talking about various eras from her career, including her game-changing Blond Ambition Tour.
The new project comes amid reports Madonna is set to sign an eight-figure deal to return to Warner Records, where she began her career, after splitting with Interscope following the release of her Madame X album last year
