Cher has entered the Global iTunes Chart with her 2001 album Living Proof, thanks to a massive social media campaign from fans.
RETRO POP got behind the #JusticeForLivingProof campaign from the start and, on Monday, Cher fans worldwide downloaded the record on iTunes in a bid to get it up the ranking.
The big push went ahead at 7 pm UK time (2 pm ET), by which time the album was already in the top 10.
The campaign is inspired by similar efforts from fans of Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Britney Spears, all of whom got classic albums back into the charts.
Ultimately, the record ranked at No. 2 worldwide, as it scored highly in several territories around the world.
Taking to Twitter, Cher couldn’t help but express her joy over the campaign – which she knew nothing about!
“OK … PAUL JUST EXPLAINED. I CANT BELIEVE YOU DID THIS FOR ME. I HAVE NO WORDS,” she wrote.

Living Proof was released as the follow-up to Cher’s international smash hit Believe, but failed to replicate its success.
Singles including The Music’s No Good Without You, Song For The Lonely, and A Different Kind Of Love Song were moderately well-received, but the record stalled at No. 9 in the US and 46 in the UK.
However, it remains a hit with fans, and even landed Cher a Grammy nomination for the track Love One Another.
It was to be her last album until 2013’s Closer To The Truth.
