Since reuniting with Culture Club for 2018’s Life, which saw the group score their first UK top 20 album since 1986, Boy George has been busy working on the new solo album, Geminis Don’t Read The Manual. With the record due to be released through BMG later this year, the star has dropped Isolation as the latest single from the set via his own label BGP – and the timing couldn’t be more apt.
He actually premiered the tune last month, but on Monday the singer released a limited Isolation 2-track CD Single, including the title track and a new Spatial Awareness Meets The Boy Uptown Dub mix of the track Clouds. The physical CD is available to order here.
In a comment accompanying the Isolation video, he says: “This has zero to do with what’s going on now (ie. the coronavirus pandemic) but perhaps everything in some way…” However, suddenly lines like, “You don’t know how it feels to be here without you / You don’t know how it feels to be alone,” become all the more ironic.
Trust us, we know that feeling all too well…
