Texas have called on ‘Gladiator’ actor Tommy Flanagan for their new Mr Haze music video.
After the sublime video for their acclaimed return with Wu -Tang Clan last year, the Black Eyed Boy hitmakers have revealed the psychedelic sun-drenched video for the track, featuring Hollywood actor Tommy and visuals of Donna Summer.
The single, which is driven by a sample of the Queen of Disco’s iconic Love’s Unkind, is the second to be taken from their new album ‘Hi’, out May 28 on BMG.
“It’s so great to be working with my old friend and now Hollywood star Tommy Flanagan, we met at 14 years old and will always be that age to me,” says singer Sharleen Spiteri.
‘Hi’ features 14 tracks originally recorded during sessions for Texas’ fourth album, ‘White on Blonde’
Initially they thought these undiscovered gems could be released as a ‘lost’ album but listening to the tracks inspired the group to write new material.
“Our excitement at finding this treasure trove of songs collided with our excitement back then and, unplanned, new songs started coming,” Sharleen adds.
“You could say we were inspired by ourselves!”
‘Hi’ is due for release on May 28 and is available on CD, LP and Cassette.
