Will Young is back with the title song from his new album ‘Light It Up’.
The follow-up to Falling Deep and Midnight is a call to celebrate your individuality and to never let the world diminish your true self, on which he sings: ‘Light it up, and let them know it / You’re too loud to be quiet, too bright now to stop glowing… Don’t waste who you are.’
“Light It Up is the most positive upbeat and fun song I’ve ever done,” says Will of the track, which was written and produced by Scandinavian pop hitmakers PhD with rising British singer-songwriter Tom King. “I can’t wait for people to be joyously uplifted by it and let all their worries float away.”

The 10-track collection also sees Will reunite with Andy Cato of Groove Armada and long-term writing partners Jim and Mima Elliot, who worked on his 2011 album, ‘Echoes’.
“I think for me it was about finally feeling more content and being able to go back to embracing joyous unashamed pop music,” says Will of the record. “I really hope this is the go-to pop album for a dance, for a cry and for a celebration. I know I do all three with it.”
To celebrate the new album, Will is embarking on his most intimate tour yet – taking shape as an up close and personal evening of acoustic performances, stories and conversation.
“I’m very excited to be going to a lot of places I haven’t been,” he reflects. “I wanted to go to smaller venues so I could properly get around the country rather than just playing the big cities.”
