Westlife star Nicky Byrne has been tapped to front new Irish TV show ‘Last Singer Standing’.
The format sees singers from around the country compete to win a €25,000 prize, with the Hello My Love hitmaker hosting the RTE show.
Meanwhile, Nadine Coyle, Joe Fatone and Samantha Mumba will serve as panelists on the programme.
It’s one of a series of new programmes to be announced by the network and is set to debut in the autumn.
Meanwhile, Nicky recently confirmed Westlife’s new album is finished and will be released soon.
“Recording our new album individually – and remotely from our homes has been one hell of an experience,” he shared, alongside a selfie from the recording booth.
“Dogs Barking, doorbell going, WiFi dropping out to mention just a few,” he said, “but we got there in the end!
“Now fully recorded, it’s currently in the oven and cooking time is approx 2/3 months.”
Alongside a studio snap, he teased: “We may open the oven door at some point to sample our brand spanking new single as a starter…
“In the meantime trust me – it’s starting to smell [divine],” he continued, joking: “For now our working title shall be… #BangersNSmash.”
New music from the Flying Without Wings stars comes after the band parted ways with former label EMI and signed a “groundbreaking global partnership” deal with WMG.
