U2 have landed their 11th UK No. 1 album with their album of re-recorded tracks ‘Songs of Surrender’.
The Irish rock group – starring Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. – outsold their closest rival, The Weeknd’s ‘The Highlights’, by more than 2:1 to secure their first chart-topper since 2009’s ‘No Line on the Horizon’.
Falling to No. 3 is last week’s chart-topper ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ from Miley Cyrus, as Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ returns to the Top 5 at No. 4 and P!nk’s ‘Trustfall’ is at five.
Over on the Singles Chart, Miley Cyrus remains at No. 1 for a landmark 10th week with Flowers, ahead of Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s Miracle which rises to No. 2.
Die For You gives The Weeknd another week at No. 3, with Rema’s Calm Down at No. 4 and Libianca’s People rounding out the Top 5.
