Tight Fit’s new single is “a pop song for anyone that’s ever had their heart broken”.
Last year, the group returned with Fallout, their first original single in 40 years, and they’ll release the follow-up track from their new album, Holding On To You, on May 23.
Speaking in the April 2022 edition of Retro Pop, singer Denise Waterman opened up on the single, which is produced by 7th Heaven.
“I’m a bit of a Steps fan and Steps could so easily have done the next song,” she smiles. “We love Fallout, but we absolutely love the next one.
“It’s one of those ones that, once you get to the chorus and you understand what it’s all about, the next time you remember the person that let you down you’ll be there shouting it out, ‘I can live without you, don’t worry!’”
The group has signed to Energise Records to work on new music and, speaking about the deal, Denise admits they never expected the songs to be so good.
“Steve had a chat with Energise Records a few years back and they were interested in doing something with us,” she recalls. “We were thinking they’d probably just be songs they were trying to get rid of or something, but when we heard them, we were like, ‘Oh, really? When can we start?’”
She adds of lead single Fallout: “It’s such a great pop track. It could easily be played in clubs and down the country, alongside people with big names, and not get lost!”
