The Go-Go’s have announced a 40th anniversary reissue of their debut album ‘Beauty and the Beat’.
The LP hit the milestone earlier this month and, to mark the occasion, the band is launching a one-off anniversary edition on limited pink vinyl.
Alongside the original album – featuring the singles Our Lips are Sealed and We Got the Beat – the new pressing also includes alternate cover art, with a previously-unseen picture of the band.

The reissue is available exclusively online via uDiscover, The Sound of Vinyl and the band’s official online store, and is available to pre-order now.
It comes as the group, which returned in 2020 with Club Zero – their first new music in almost two decades – prepares to celebrate its musical legacy with an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year.
Upon hearing the news, they said in a joint statement earlier this year: “We are overwhelmed with gratitude to be 2021 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“Women have always been a vital part of the ever-changing music business and The Go-Go’s are so proud to have our success story honored and recognized by fans and voters.”
This year’s induction ceremony – which also sees Tina Turner and Carole King become two-time inductees into the Hall – will be held at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse arena in Cleveland, Ohio on October 30.
