Texas have released a brand new cover of Northern Soul classic Keep On Talking from their latest best-of LP.
The track – written by Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham, and produced by Oldham in Muscle Shoals – is the second unreleased song to be taken from the compilation, after the original After All.
“It was a dream to work with Spooner on this northern soul classic that he and Dan Penn wrote,” Sharleen Spiteri says. “The records that Spooner has played on alone made working with this legend very, very special.”

On their new album, ‘The Very Best Of 1989 – 2023‘, Sharleen and co. celebrate their biggest hits from across their career, including I Don’t Want A Lover, Black Eyed Boy, Halo and Summer Son.
On their career to date – which has to-date delivered 10 hit albums and seen the group pick up the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection – the singer says: “No’ bad for a hairdresser fae Glasgow.
“But I gotta be honest: I still feel like I’m really close to the beginning. And the energy and the vibe between us all – as a band I don’t think we’ve ever been happier, and I don’t think we’ve ever been tighter.
“I don’t think we’ve ever been more definite about who we are.”
Following the album release, Texas will play the Pyramid Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival on June 23.
