Taylor Swift is continuing to smash records as her ‘Eras Tour’ film – documenting her latest world tour – becomes the highest-grossing concert movie of all time!
By the end of 2023, the Cruel Summer singer’s latest project ranked 10th across all genres of the year and, according to Variety, the it’s now surpassed Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ to become the highest-grossing tour film ever, with an overall box office of £206m.
The tour itself was the first to ever gross over one billion dollars and in its first weekend in cinemas scored the title of the biggest opening for a concert film in history.
Capturing a performance at the Los Angeles’ SoFi stadium last year, the film follows the star as she performs a career-spanning setlist, from 2008’s ‘Fearless’ right the way up to 2022’s ‘Midnights’.
The tour comes to the UK this year in June, where Taylor is currently scheduled to play 15 dates across Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London. Pop-punk band Paramore are set to perform as her opening act.
