Mutya Buena is reportedly planning to tell all about her life and career in a new memoir.
The Sugababes singer – who is a founding member of the group and went on to enjoy a successful solo career, duetting with Amy Winehouse and George Michael – will drop the tome later this year, according to The Sun’s Bizarre column.
Of the autobiography, which reportedly titled ‘Real Girl’ after Mutya’s UK No. 2 single, a source told the publication: “Mutya has been in the spotlight practically her whole life and it’s not been an easy ride.
“She was on Barrymore when she was just eight and hit the big time in Sugababes when she was still a teenager.
“Lots has been written and said about her in the past but she is turning 40 this year and she felt like it was the perfect time to reflect on her life and set the record straight.
“It has been an emotional process because she has delved into a lot of trauma, which she has only ever spoken about to those who are closest to her before.
“But Mutya hopes the book will bring her closer to fans and help people who have had similar experiences in their personal lives.”
It comes as the group – who will embark on their biggest-ever arena tour later this year – returns to the studio to work on new music, 25 years after their debut album, ‘One Touch’, was released.
