Sugababes have shared a new mix of album cut Same Old Story courtesy of Blood Orange.
The group are revisiting their classic debut album ‘One Touch’ ahead of a 20th anniversary expanded reissue later this year.
And they’ve dropped a new edit of Same Old Story, reworked by Blood Orange aka Dev Hynes, as the second promo track from the LP.
Upon announcing the reissued album, Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy dropped the MNEK remix of classic single Run For Cover from the record.
Dev also produced the girls’ 2013 single Flatline – released under the Mutya Keisha Siobhan (MKS) moniker – and in an interview with NME, Siobhan admitted the collaboration was a natural fit.
“Dev Hynes grew up on that record [‘One Touch’] as well, so it was nice to work with him because he instantly got us and understood the sound and how to progress it,” she explained
Same Old Story is one of 15 remixed tracks included on the release, which also features the original 12 song album, plus eight B-sides and previously-unreleased demo recordings from the era.
‘One Touch’ was released in 2000 and included the hit singles Overload, New Year and Soul Sound.
The 20th anniversary expanded edition is out October 1 and available on 2CD, limited Tri-Colour Vinyl and Gold Vinyl.
