Soft Cell have shared the second single from their upcoming final studio album ‘Danceteria’.
‘In Heaven (When I Dance With You)’ follows the title song from the new LP – due September 25 via Republic Of Music – work on which was completed prior to the passing of founding member, Dave Ball, at the age of 66 last October.
Frontman Marc Almond says of the new track: “‘In Heaven (When I Dance With You)’ is a celebration of the early-’80s joyful disco scene. A coming together of the sentiments of the time.
“I wanted it to be that moment when you run to the dance floor.”
‘Danceteria’ will be Soft Cell’s final album and takes its title from the legendary New York nightclub, which was a haunt for the duo as they recorded their debut album, ‘Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret’ (1981).

‘Danceteria’ serves as the follow-up to Soft Cell’s 2022 comeback record, ‘*Happiness Not Included’, and subsequent companion piece, ‘*Happiness Now Completed’.
Confirming the future of the group, Almond recently shared: “There can be no more recordings of Soft Cell without Dave, it would not be possible. The sad reality is that Dave Ball was half of Soft Cell, and live work aside, I can’t write Soft Cell songs without him.”
