Sabrina Carpenter is officially the female artist with the most weeks at No. 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart in a single year.
This week sees Taste secure its seventh consecutive week at the top and, combined with Espresso‘s seven weeks atop and the five-week stint of Please Please Please, sees the US star log 19 weeks at the summit.
In doing so, she secures a new record, surpassing Olivia Newton-John’s 16 weeks in 1978 and drawing level with Ed Sheeran for the most weeks at No. 1 in a calendar year this century.
Additionally, Taste ties Noah Kahan’s Stick Season for the longest-running No. 1 of the year so far, according to OfficialCharts.
