Rozalla has opened up about her time on the road with the late King of Pop Michael Jackson.
The Queen of Rave lit up the charts in the early 1990s with her club anthem Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good) and went on to join the superstar on the European leg of his ‘Dangerous’ tour.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of her debut LP ‘Everybody’s Free’, the singer looks back on joining the Bad star on the road at his request, admitting: “That was incredible. I think about that from time to time and, of course, my husband doesn’t let me forget it.
“Sometimes he’ll joke when we’re watching another act that’s performing on stage, he’ll lean over and say, ‘They’re really good, but did they support Michael Jackson? Don’t think so…’,” she laughs.
“Honestly, I just think to myself, that was one of the biggest highlights of my career and it forever will be.”
During the trek, the pair met “a couple of times” and Rozalla remembers the pop icon being “really nice,” revealing he even asked her for advice when he was forced to cancel a series of shows due to vocal problems.
“We were taking pictures on this one day and I was thanking him for choosing me, and then he’s like, ‘How do you look after your voice Rozalla? Because I’m struggling’,” she remembers.
“I’m like, ‘What?! You’re Michael Jackson and you’re asking me…’ I’m saying this all in my head, you know…”
