Robbie Williams has asked Radiohead to work on a cover of The Weather Girls’ It’s Raining Men with him.
The Rudebox hitmaker is keen to put his own spin on the 1983 disco anthem and wants Thom Yorke to join him on the tune.
If that doesn’t work out, he has contingencies, with The Sun reporting him as saying: “I want to do a cover of ‘It’s Raining Men’ but I want Radiohead to do a backing track for me.
“But they have not got back to me.I keep asking but nothing back. I dunno. I might ask Trent Reznor.”
Robbie is currently working on two projects; alongside a dance record with his group Lufthaus, he’s also putting the finishing touches to his next solo LP, which he hopes will be another runaway success.
“The album is being produced right now. I am ultra-competitive, I would like it to be my 16th No. 1,” he recently shared. “Those sorts of things just stave off feelings of lack of self-worth, so there’s no great punch-the-sky moment when it happens, but what does happen is, ‘Thank god I don’t have to hate myself today.
“Thank god they’ve not deserted me, left me, because without them, who am I?’”
