Robbie Williams’ next album will see him go “back to 1995”.
The Love My Life star is currently celebrating 25 years of his solo career with the release of his orchestral greatest hits LP ‘XXV’ this autumn, featuring newly-recorded versions of his best-loved tracks.
Speaking to The Telegraph, the hitmaker looked ahead to his next album and revealed he’s looking back to the very start of his solo recording journey to influence his direction.
“I’ve decided to go back to 1995,” he said. “I’ve just left Take That. And now, with the knowledge, musical knowledge that I have, what would be the album that I would make?”
The publication described the tracks expected to feature on the record as “guitar-based songs,” with Robbie admitting he’s also throwing himself into various other artistic endeavours.
“I’m also creating art. I’ve written a TV show. I’ve also designed my own clothing line,” he explained.
“I’ve also created my own drink. I want to build a hotel. I want to create something big in business. What else? There’s loads. Talent competition. I wrote another musical.
“It’s just limitless and it’s endless…I’m going to be a very, very busy man.”
Following the release of ‘XXV’, Robbie will return to the stage in October for a string of high-octane arena dates, opening with two nights at London’s The O2, with stops in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.
