Rihanna has shared her plans for her long-awaited ninth studio album.
The We Found Love hitmaker released her most-recent studio album, ‘Anti’, in January 2016, since when fans have been quizzing the star on when she plans to return with a follow-up.
In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna insisted she won’t release anything until the material is perfect, explaining: “I was just like, ‘No, it’s not me. It’s not right. It’s not matching my growth. It’s not matching my evolution. I can’t do this. I can’t stand by this. I can’t perform this for a year on tour.'”
Elaborating on her desire for the project to be faultless, she shared: “After a while, I looked at it, and I was like, this much time away from music needs to count for the next thing everyone hears. It has to count. It has to matter.”
Addressing fans’ desire for new material, the Diamonds singer said: “After waiting eight years, you might as well just wait some more.”
