Nile Rodgers has teamed up with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am to work on new music for the group.
The disco legend took to social media to share a snap alongside Will, confirming the pair had been penning tracks in Los Angeles.
“Just finished a great @bep writing session w @iamwill (sic),” he penned, along with a bunch of fire emojis.
It’s not the first time the pair have worked together; back in 2018, the two hit up London’s Abbey Road Studios but, despite the group releasing two albums since then, the results of those sessions have yet to materialise.
However, Will had nothing but good things to say about the Le Freak hitmaker, admitting it was a dream to be working with one of his idols in a clip shared to Facebook.
“What an honour to be working with one of my heroes, influencers, teachers,” beamed the star.
“I grew up listening to his music and I am still growing up to his music, I was blessed to hear some of the stories…
“When I am around the legends and my mentors, I can’t help but interview them, I learned so much in five minutes.
“So thank you so much, bro. You are a hero.”
Nile added: “Thank you, happy to have you up here in the crib.”
The latest studio session comes days after the funk icon opened his The DiscOasis roller disco at LA botanic garden, with a star-studded bash featuring appearances from Will, Adam Lambert and more.
Madonna was listed as a co-host of the opening on invites but, according to Page Six, didn’t show up for the event. However, there was a tribute to the Queen of Pop, with an impersonator performing Like a Virgin.
