‘The Masked Singer UK’ has unmasked its first contestant.
The show returned to ITV on Saturday (December 30) night, as six performers took to the stage in disguise in a bid to fool the judging panel and viewers at home.
It ended with Maypole, Dippy Egg and Weather in the bottom three, and when judges Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and guest judge Charlie Simpson chose to save Maypole first, followed by Dippy Egg, Weather’s identity was revealed.
After being unmasked as Dionne Warwick, fans took to social media to react, with one saying: “As soon as she started singing i thought it was Dionne Warwick.”
Another added, “How on Earth have they bagged Dionne Warwick?!,” while a third said: “This show loves to bin off the older women first!”
Dionne appeared on ‘The Masked Singer US’ back in 2020 as Mouse, saying at the time: “It’s kind of hard to disguise my voice, unfortunately, in this case, and they recognised my voice, there’s nothing I can do about that.”
In an ITV press pack released ahead of the series, Weather said: “You know the weather is very unpredictable.”
