Michael Medrano’s latest single Naked cuts to the heart of who he is as an artist.
Having released his debut track back in 2016, it took three years before he attracted widespread attention with his electro-pop jam Fluids, which has been streamed more than 2.5 million times on Spotify.
Speaking in the June 2022 issue of RETROPOP, the rising star speaks openly about his forthcoming mini-album, calling pre-release track Naked “by-far the most ‘me’ record I’ve ever made”.
“It falls somewhere between Kesha, 3oh!3, The Gorillaz, and Dick Dale,” he laughs. “I know that sounds insane, but it’ll make sense and it’s SO fucking fun. This is really the one.”
And when it comes to the album, he teases fans can expect more of the same!
“It’s a trashy, sexy escape from reality — just so much fucking fun,” smiles Michael. “It all ends with a big comedown, so if you cry when you’re drunk then I might’ve made this mini album specifically for you.”
