Mariah Carey has unearthed the shelved video for her classic hit Underneath The Stars.
The song was released as the sixth and final single from her fifth album, Daydream, and although a video was shot in Europe, unlike its predecessors it never made it out.
But, after hinting the clip would finally be released as part of her #MC30 celebrations while sharing a snippet from a “vault” with the raw footage from the shoot, Mimi’s finally debuted the visual.
The clip features footage of Mariah on tour across Europe, including footage of her onstage and candid shots between shows, along with scenes of the star performing the single outdoors in a baby pink dress.
It had long been believed a video was never made for the track but, in a surprise confession on Twitter back in 2012, the Hero hitmaker revealed a visual had been recorded.
“Little known fact, I actually shot a video 4 ‘Underneath The Stars’ in France & England that never got released & I don’t know where it is,” she penned.
The video is one of many Mariah treats in recent months – the diva is currently celebrating 30 years since the release of her debut album with the hashtag #MC30 by releasing digital EPs and coloured vinyl albums, along with her new album The Rarities and her new memoir.
