Mariah Carey looks set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her seminal ‘Butterfly’ album.
Originally released in 1997, the LP – featuring the hit singles Honey and My All – is a firm favourite from the superstar’s catalogue and marks a turning point in her life and career.
The record was recorded amid her divorce with Tommy Mottola and, in a post on social media marking the anniversary of the Honey single, she hinted there’s more to come later this year.
“Happy Anniversary HONEY,” she penned. “One of the happiest moments of my life.”
Closing the post, Mariah added: “#butterfly25 coming soon.”
Last year, Mariah hinted at new music and told fans during an online discussion: “Oh my gosh, you guys! I’m like obsessed with what I’m doing right now. But I can’t reveal it yet. It’s exciting!
“I’m really with this music. I haven’t made [music in this way] in years. During the pandemic, I was able to rest my voice and get it back to where it needs to be. So here we are!”
