Mariah Carey has teased “very exciting” talks with film industry pals.
In a chat with BBC Radio 2’s Trevor Nelson, the Elusive Chanteuse spoke about a potential return to the silver screen almost 20 years after her infamous – and totally fabulous – Glitter movie.
“I’ve been having some conversations with some very creative friends of mine who may or may not be in the world of film and that’s a very exciting prospect,” she shared.
The Loverboy star’s semi-autobiographical flick didn’t soar following its release around the time of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
However, that doesn’t seem to have deterred the star, who has no doubt been compelled to revisit a potential movie career following a revived interest in Glitter in recent years. Most notably, a #JusticeForGlitter social media campaign saw the record top the U.S. iTunes album chart in 2018.
Mariah didn’t reveal whether she was discussing starring in the movie or whether her involvement would be based primarily behind the camera.
The diva is currently celebrating 30 years since the release of her debut album with the hashtag #MC30 by releasing digital EPs and coloured vinyl albums, along with her new album The Rarities and The Meaning of Mariah Carey memoir.
