It comes five years after Mariah was announced as the headliner for the 2020 edition of the festival, before it was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a post on the event’s social media pages, organisers wrote: “@MariahCarey, the Queen of the Lambs, is coming to Pride On The Park 2025!
“A performance we’ve been waiting five years for is finally upon us and we promise we’re going to make it worth the wait. Stay tuned – more acts coming soon!”
In a video, Mariah added: “I can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces at Pride on the Park 2025. It’s going to be a scorcher.”
In a separate statement, Brighton Pride managing director Paul Kemp described Mariah as a “global icon”, gushing: “We were so excited to have her join us in 2020 and absolutely gutted the show couldn’t go ahead due to pandemic restrictions that summer.
“Pride is always an amazing weekend of celebration and inclusiveness of our city, and this year is going to be incredibly momentous.”
