Lorde has unveiled her cover of Take Me To The River for the new Talking Heads tribute album.
The New Zealand star has recorded a new version the group’s own 1978 cover of Al Green’s 1974 classic for the new album ‘Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense’.
Green co-wrote and recorded the track on his album ‘Al Green Explores Your Mind’, with Talking Heads releasing their version on ‘More Songs About Buildings and Food’ and played it live for ‘Stop Making Sense’ in 1984.
The new recording has been produced with Jim-E Stack and will appear on the forthcoming record alongside contributions from Paramore, Teezo Touchdown, Miley Cyrus and others. A release date has yet to be announced.
