Lady Gaga will reunite with singing legend Tony Bennett for a one-off ‘MTV Unplugged’ concert this Friday.
The pair will hit the stage on July 2 for the show, which will see the pair debut tracks from their forthcoming second collaborative album.
“Come witness a new chapter in Unplugged’s history as Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga grace the Unplugged stage for the first time, performing fresh renditions off their brand new Jazz standards album – and a handful of surprises you definitely won’t want to miss,” reads a ticket ad for the show, according to the New York Post.
The show is set to be recorded at an undisclosed New York location and comes seven years after the pair released ‘Cheek to Cheek’, their first album together, in 2014.
A new record had been slated for a spring 2021 release, but has yet to materialise.
Amid his return to the live stage, it was recently revealed Bennet is battling Alzheimer’s disease, with which he was first diagnosed in 2017.
His reunion with Gaga comes amid a vastly different era in her music career, which saw her return to the dance floor with her sixth studio album ‘Chromatica’.
According to reports, she’s readying a remixed version of the project for release, with singer Rina Sawayama teasing her involvement with the record.
Gaga also reissued her second album ‘Born This Way’ recently, with a six-track EP of cover versions featuring Kylie Minogue’s take on Marry The Night.
