Kylie Minogue has secured her highest debut on the UK Singles Chart in almost a decade with Padam Padam.
The single – which serves as the lead release from her 16th album, ‘Tension’ – reached No. 26 in its first week of release after becoming a viral hit for the Aussie hitmaker.
In doing so, it marks her strongest debut on the chart since Into The Blue hit No. 12 back in 2014.
Alongside its Top 30 placement on the Singles Chart, Padam Padam is the UK’s most-downloaded song of the week, landing at No. 1 on the Official Singles Sales Chart and Download Chart (via OfficialCharts).
Although a CD single has been released for Padam Padam, it wasn’t made available until after the chart cut-off and sales won’t be counted until its June release. Pre-order yours here.
While both of Kylie’s most recent albums – ‘Golden’ (2018) and ‘DISCO’ (2020) – hit No. 1 on the Albums Chart, their singles have been less successful, with the former’s lead release Dancing peaking at No. 38 and Say Something from the latter peaking at No. 56.
