Kylie Minogue may have just announced her new album ‘Tension II’, but she’s already looking to the future and her 18th LP.

The new record – featuring the single Lights Camera Action – is in a similar electronic, club-friendly style to Kylie’s recent hits, but the Aussie star is planning to switch things up next time around.

Hinting at a reinvention similar to that seen with her 1997 classic ‘Impossible Princess’, she told NME: “I feel like it’ll be time for something – maybe not as singular as [‘Impossible Princess’] – but to bring some of that back in.”

Revealing that she “already had a few songwriting days in the studio with my closest [collaborators] for whatever’s to come”, Kylie added: “I’m not sure how much of [what I’m working on] is because [of] where my output has been of late.

“We’ve been pretty solid on ‘What’s the hit, what’s the hit, what’s the hit’,” she said. “So, it’s some of that slightly meatier kind of the other stuff that I’m really drawn to.”

‘Tension II’ arrives October 18 on BMG and features nine brand new songs that serve as a follow-up to last year’s chart-topping ‘Tension’, which featured the hit singles Padam Padam and Tension.

“The ‘Tension’ era has been so special to me… I can’t possibly let it be over just yet! Welcome to ‘Tension II’,” said Kylie in a statement about the new album.

Also included are the recent collaborations: Edge Of Saturday Night with The Blessed Madonna, My Oh My with Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo, and Midnight Ride with Orville Peck.

‘Tension II’ is out October 18 and available to pre-order from Kylie’s Official Store.

In addition to the LP, Kylie will hit the road for the first time in six years next spring, with a run of global tour dates launching in Australia before heading to Asia and finally the UK in May.

More countries and dates to be announced over the coming weeks, including Europe and North and South America.

Kylie said: “I am beyond excited to announce the TENSION TOUR 2025. I can’t wait to share beautiful and wild moments with fans all over the world, celebrating the Tension era and more!

“It’s been an exhilarating ride so far and now, get ready for your close up because I will be calling Lights, Camera, Action… and there will be a whole lot of Padaming!”
