Kim Petras performed two previously-unheard tracks from her forthcoming debut album during Sunday’s MTV Europe Music Awards.
The star took the stage to belt out Coconuts and Hit It From the Back, both of which will appear on her first full length project.
Not only did the star thrill fans with the new music – she also became the first openly transgender entertainer to perform at the ceremony.
It was a particularly poignant moment as the ceremony was staged in Hungary, which recently passed anti-LGBTQ legislation.
The laws band the legal recognition of transgender citizens, outlawing gender transition and gay adoption, and prohibiting the display of content that depicts homosexuality or gender change to minors under 18.
Earlier this year, Kim released her major label debut single Future Starts Now and will drop her LP on Republic Records in 2022.
