Kesha has released her first single as an independent artist.
JOYRIDE is the first release from the Take It Off hitmaker on her own label, Kesha Records, following her departure from Kemosabe Records, owned by Lukasz ‘Dr. Luke’ Gottwald, to which she signed aged 18.
Co-written with Zhone and Madison Love, the singer debuted the track live in June at Brooklyn’s Planet Pride.

Earlier this year, Kesha celebrated her independence after almost two decades, sharing: “First day I’ve owned my voice in 19 years. Welcome.”
Having launched a new website, she also sent out a newsletter to fans, saying: “Animals. I’ve waited for this day for more than half of my life. All of my adult life
“There is so much more that I have to say, and experiences we have to share.”
“This is the time for our joy ride. We made it… and I wasn’t alone thanks to each of you. Thank you.
“So much is on the horizon… But for now… Freedom. I’ve been waiting for you.”
The new material serves as the follow-up to Kesha’s 2023 album ‘Gag Order’, which RETROPOP called “a bold, defiant statement” that’s “destined to become her magnum opus”.
