Kelly Clarkson will take the reins as host of this year’s ‘NBC Christmas in Rockefeller Center 2023’ special.
The singer and TV presenter will front this year’s show, which documents the annual lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
“I’m so excited to consider this city and Rockefeller Center my new home, and I can’t imagine a better way to kick off Christmas this year than to be a part of this beautiful New York tradition with the lighting of the tree,” says Kelly, who will also perform tracks from her holiday albums ‘Wrapped In Red’ (2013) and ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ (2021) during the special.
“The lighting of that magnificent tree at Rockefeller Center is one of the true joys of the holiday season and to have Kelly both host and perform feels like we’re getting our Christmas presents early this year,” added Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Media Group.
‘Today’ anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin will also help out during the festivities. More special guests will be confirmed in due course.
The event takes place in New York on Sunday, November 19 and will be available to watch in the UK via Sky TV.
